Showing posts with the label becoming independent

Hey There 2020!

Oh 2019, what a year! I have to admit, this year taught me a ton, left me speechless at times (I know, stunning right?!), and with some gains as well as losses! I learned how to love myself and see who I am alone, I have ended relationships that were overdue to be ended, and I became a stronger coach with Beachbody! I gained a booty thanks to my amazing workout program and learned how to eat properly! 2019 gave me the strength I needed to end a toxic relationship that was disguised as something much different. The year had it's ups and downs, as does every year, but this one in particular helped me learn what I like and where my future goals lie. I experienced things I thought I wanted and realized where I am heading is exactly where I need to be. Now that that's over, reminiscing can be fun but I am ready for a new chapter! Oh 2020, do I have something planned for you! I am entering this year on a very different foot, starting today with organizing my goals and strate...

Oops I Did it Again...

Happy Hump Day and thank the Lord this week is almost over!!! Work has been exciting yet overwhelming, I woke up today in disbelief that it was ONLY Wednesday. I'm absolutely loving my job, there have been some moments that have made it difficult, some painful, but all making it worth getting up every single day. I had my 90 day review today and it has inspired and motivated me for my future with the company. This all being said, that including enjoying my summer have attributed to the lack of posts, which then inspire this post. The single life has been treating me well, I've learned an awful lot by enjoying my time to be free and independent. It helps having a close girlfriend in the same boat as me, we've been having the best summer thus far. This is the first time I've really allowed myself to stay single. In my dating history, I have been in a relationship constantly and now I'm seeing what that does to a soul. Suppresses you and gives you a constant feel...

PINEAPPLES!

Within the cast of 80 Day Obsession, there are a ton of inside jokes that make you feel like you are literally working out with a bunch of your closest friends. It has definitely helped motivate me to keep up the workouts and feels like they are supporting you personally. One of the inside jokes that I think is the best is their safe word "pineapples". Even though Autumn never allows them to quit, they will say it during a tough set. Well, lately I have really wanted to yell at the top of my lungs for all the world to hear, PINEAPPLES!!!! It has been a really tough month for me mentally but, like I mentioned in my most recent post, I am focusing on myself and my goals. The past two weeks though, I allowed myself to slack on diet and working out, it's hindered my progress but I think I needed just a moment to take a break. I have had some ups and downs mentally, struggling with not being exactly where I want to be and learning to take advice, taking it day by day. I t...

The One Without a Title

It's been almost 6 months since I last posted and things have significantly changed... About 2 weeks ago, Michael and I decided to go our separate ways. A decision that is for the best and I wish him nothing but happiness. But, with any relationship, comes the lessons and growth of moving on. I could say so many negative things but that would only show bad character and prove nothing so I just pick up and grow. In my last post, I mentioned the upcoming 3-0 and how nervous I am about it. See, when I was in my early twenties I envisioned something completely different when I got to this point and I think the hardest part is accepting my current reality. It's not bad, just different than I thought it would be. So, instead of marriage and children, I'm focusing on independence and success. My current goal is to be completely happy and content with every aspect of my life, basically that cliche of falling in love with yourself. Of course, I still want romance and a family bu...

Top 10 in 2017!

I've decided to write down things that I have learned thus far in 2017! Here we go! 10. Don't feel obligated to keep up with the trends. So many times I see something via social media and I am immediately unsure when it came in style. For example, bikinis with the most ridiculous tan lines and sayings like "cray cray" or SMH (shake my head). I have to thank the Urban Dictionary for that last one. Everyday there is something new to do or keep up with and for the majority of my twenties, I would be willing to break the bank just to up on it and in with the cool kids. These days I am not ashamed to say priorities have changed and I couldn't care less. I have learned what I like and what I am comfortable with, those things will stay. Stuff is just stuff, keep that in mind! 9. Shamelessly staying in on the weekends. I don't have an issue with the occasional nights out, but our parents weren't lying when they said nothing good happens after mi...

The Renegade and the Romantic

As you may or may have not noticed, I have been MIA for the last few months. Starting the new year, events happened that have drastically changed my life. There were lots of tears, tests, and challenges but all resulted in Brad and I ending our relationship. No I don't need a shoulder to cry on, I am doing well. The hardest part was deciding on whether or not to move back to Fort Myers, granted, this decision has been decided and I will continue on once everything has been solidified. The best and worst part of ending any kind of relationship, is that it forces you to re-evaluate you as a person, the you that you want to be in the future, and that can be really painful. You will learn who to trust, who you know you won't ever see again, and who really is just in it for the juicy details. I am lucky to say that, even though no break up is easy, I'm a strong Southern woman who will trudge on! I realized quickly in the midst of moving on that I have always put myself last ...

Challenge Negativity

"We should balance every negative interaction with 10 positive ones." Since my last post, I've hit a negative wall and let it consume all of me. I'm ashamed to say all the work I did in the past months went down the drain when I allowed myself to lose focus and gain attention of negativity surrounding me. Shameful as I feel it may be, I have realized it, over analyzed it way too much, and now have decided to get off my prideful steed and face it all head on. Bradley's job is a blessing, to have a hard working man who does all he does to build our life and future is a God send. Sometimes, I get very selfish and want him to be where I want him when I want him to be. This is quite laughable. If you know either Brad or myself, you know we are an interesting breed. We are very similar hence why we have chosen each other. The differences, however, stem from my sensitivity and his lack thereof. I am more off the wall where he is more grounded. He is secure in his feeli...

Listen Louder, Talk Quieter

Today I ventured out of the house for the first time all weekend and went to Trimble Park, one of the state parks associated with big Lake Apopka. It is absolutely gorgeous and tranquil, couldn't believe I didn't do it sooner. Since Bradley took this position, I've been a little apprehensive about going out on my own. I really wanted to do things besides watch Friends reruns but I was honestly scared to. I am proud of myself for doing this today. It may seem like such a measly step to some but for me, it's huge. Luckily, I live for my own opinions and not others. It is definitely a difficult feat to step out of your comfort zone. To go from always relying on your mate for everything and suddenly, you have to be independent. But I've achieved so much in the last two years as far as branching out. People may not understand it, but frankly, it is not for them to. I have always been a very social person, always jabbering on and never really thinking of the big pictu...
