It's Raining, It's Pouring...

It's a gross, rainy, gray, ugly, and boring Sunday! I'm feeling a bit stir-crazy so of course, I sought out my Pinterest as usual! Looking through the fitness section, I stumbled upon this at-home ab workout. I figured why the heck not!! The one thing I despise about at-home workouts is the assumption that you have free weights or a workout ball handy. Not so much in my case or probably everyone else's. This is one of the few without that being necessary. I definitely broke a good sweat and felt it in my core!  I haven't done a workout involving timing instead of reps but it definitely whooped my behind!! A post-workout banana and huge glass of water was necessary!!! I love how this took a little bit of time and took my mind off the boredom. The one part of fitness people forget about is how relaxing and tension relieving it can be! With all this house insanity, I really need as much relaxation as I can get! I saw a post recently on a fitness motivation social ...

Blonde Goes Neutral!

You may take my flash, but ya can't take my sass! As y'all know, I just started with Florida Hospital Medical Group as a float medical assistant in their Orlando area offices! As excited as I am to don scrubs, I'm not so thrilled about toning down my nails! I do love a good at-home mani!! Instead of pouting and pitching a fit, I decided to dedicate this to "clinical-approved" neutral mani choices so you can still be pretty and lady-like among the medical muck! As much as I can get down and dirty, I believe every Southern girl should keep her nails clean and polished! Granted, the medical field is a tough area where you're constantly washing and sanitizing your hands. But still, be the classy lady and keep those nails done! The two polishes that I chose to feature are both Essie brand, used with Sally's Hard As Nails for the base and Essie's Good To Go as a top coat. This is my routine and has been for quite some time! Gotta love doing mani's at...

Save the Fave!

Sometimes all you need is a little sparkle and a whole lotta Jesus! Every summer and spring, I get a tad mani obsessed! Glitter, pastels, and accent nails take over from the matte, jewel tones, and dark colors of winter and fall! I love doing my own nails, mainly because I'm a control freak and I hate bubbles, smudges, creases, and any possibility that would cause me to tell the manicurist to redo each flaw. I think they would kill me, haha! I absolutely love sparkles and accent nails! I know this isn't a new trend and people have since moved on to nail ombrees but I'm still doing the accent, surprise surprise I'm not up on the new trends! Why change if I still love it?! One polish that is my summer go-to is this sparkle from Sephora by OPI, "Meet Me at the Disco". It is the perfect pairing to almost every spring/summer shade. Since I am a true Florida girl, spring and summer tend to be one in the same, as are the shades! We only really have three seasons:...

Spring Mani: Turquoise & Caicos

It's Tuesday & at home mani day!  I have a nail routine I want to share,  I am and have been completely obsessed with it for awhile now. It's budget friendly at home mani that has the perfect shine without the high gel product price tag!  Let's get started! For prep shape your nails with a nail file, depending on the amount of shaping you need determines your grit. I use a rough grit to get the shape and a mild one to smooth edges and separated layers. I do not ever use a nail clipper, that's just too much commitment! Ha, in all honesty, I hate the look it leaves! When you finally get your nail to your desired shape and smoothness, wash your hands, and dip those naked fingertips in some acetone. This removes any oils, lotions, dust, and whatever other residue that may cause your base not to stick!  For the base, I use Sally Hansen Hard As Nails . This stuff gives your nails a gel-like base coat to make that polish stick! It also helps prevents ...

The Basics of Becoming Blonde

Cheers,  it's round two! Happy Tuesday all! My morning started out like a typical Tuesday with traffic, coffee, and a giant waste of gas! But the silver lining, I have time to blog it up!! One thing I wanted to mention before continuing with explaining my personal blonding experience was that I started out with very healthy hair that hadn't been dyed for almost a year. So, for those of you who dye your locks quite frequently, you may want to discontinue for awhile and allow your hair to get a little healthy before shocking it! Just a little side note that popped in my head while in traffic this morning!! So, to recap, the supplies I purchased my first go round were as follows: •bleaching kit, initially I bought one but ended up needing to get a second while bleaching! May want to plan ahead and buy two for "just in case" purposes! •toners •purple shampoo (will explain further shortly) •moisturizing conditioning treatment I already had gloves, bowl/brus...
