PINEAPPLES!

Within the cast of 80 Day Obsession, there are a ton of inside jokes that make you feel like you are literally working out with a bunch of your closest friends. It has definitely helped motivate me to keep up the workouts and feels like they are supporting you personally. One of the inside jokes that I think is the best is their safe word "pineapples". Even though Autumn never allows them to quit, they will say it during a tough set. Well, lately I have really wanted to yell at the top of my lungs for all the world to hear, PINEAPPLES!!!! It has been a really tough month for me mentally but, like I mentioned in my most recent post, I am focusing on myself and my goals. The past two weeks though, I allowed myself to slack on diet and working out, it's hindered my progress but I think I needed just a moment to take a break. I have had some ups and downs mentally, struggling with not being exactly where I want to be and learning to take advice, taking it day by day. I t...

Love Your Lady Lumps!

Workin' on my fitness!  About a month ago,  I posted about my fitness journey and the inspiration that motivates me towards my goals. I've always been super teeny, petite and never really gained much weight until I was in nursing school and just before I was diagnosed with t1d. I had always wanted this fit, toned figure but wasn't educated in the slightest about how to go about doing it. I knew nothing about good and bad carbs, protein, how certain fats can be good for you, workouts, supplements, and schedules. After much educating, mostly through my favorite social media athletes (mentioned in this post ), I decided to make my goals and be motivated this year to actually progressing towards achieving them. I began a cycle of supplements today, which is what spawned this post in the first place. I've learned that fitness is all about your own journey. Every body and mind is completely different, we may have similar goals and ideas on how to get there but what may w...

Brass Be Gone!

Orange you glad you're blonde!    Orange is the taboo word in the hair coloring community! You just don't say it, it's almost jinxing the sacred golden locks! No one, and I mean, no one wants their dream blonde glow to brass up on them! So, here's my solution: purple shampoo! Sally's Beauty Supply, $14 Many people have made comments regarding my hair in person. Usually, it is the day of or after I use this glorious shampoo! I personally use Clairol Shimmer Lights that I've talked about in previous posts. It is amazing! Per instructions,  you are to do a two part shampooing process to up your glow. I find this to be a waste of shampoo and time. I have extremely fine, thin hair that is a tad longer that my bra strap so I feel like a double shampoo will cause my hair to be too clean, fine and fizz like crazy! No thank you!! I leave the shampoo in my hair for about 5 minutes and then wash out completely. After the fact, I moisturize with Aussie 3 Minute...

Putting the "Blonde" in Budgeted Blonde

Warning: this is the first of a many part post! I recently I went from a boring brunette to a blonde bombshell! Prior to moving to Orlando, I went from salon blonde to a box brown to keep my hair low maintenance until I could find a stylist locally. After a year of babe asking when I'm going back to my blonde locks and me not-so-secretly missing it, I decided to start researching what it would take to get back to the color I loved! I went from blogs to YouTube, Instagram hair sensations and straight up old school internet research before gaining the confidence to doing it at home, by myself! Eek!! I subscribe to Elle Bangs , an amazing stylist from Cali to learn about the biggest do's and don't's about bleaching at home. Some YouTubers are a little flaky so I had to weed out the crazies and learn who was a reliable source! After all this, about a week of convincing myself I could actually do this, and about a bottle of red zin, I was ready!! I started with...
