Healthy Eats, Yummy Treats

The way to a man's heart is through his stomach! In our house, I tend to cook the same ole dishes and sometimes it gets a little bland. My sweet man, bless his heart, will eat almost anything I make for him and being that he's really picky, that says alot!! As a blogger, I love to read cooking blogs!! Normally, I find them through Pinterest and my eyes are almost always bigger than my stomach! I have a tendency to bite off more than I can chew, ha! The recipe that I am going to share is healthy but taste like it's a cheat! The first recipe is a stuffed pepper recipe that I snagged from Skinnytaste! This blog has blown the lid off the blog world and has become a household name, quite successful!! Basically, Mrs.Gina takes recipes and puts a healthy twist on them without losing flavor! That's my kind of eats! Turkey Stuffed Peppers: Shopping list: 1 lb lean ground turkey 1 garlic, minced 1/4 onion, minced 1 tbsp chopped fresh cilantro or parsley 1...

Love Your Lady Lumps!

Workin' on my fitness!  About a month ago,  I posted about my fitness journey and the inspiration that motivates me towards my goals. I've always been super teeny, petite and never really gained much weight until I was in nursing school and just before I was diagnosed with t1d. I had always wanted this fit, toned figure but wasn't educated in the slightest about how to go about doing it. I knew nothing about good and bad carbs, protein, how certain fats can be good for you, workouts, supplements, and schedules. After much educating, mostly through my favorite social media athletes (mentioned in this post ), I decided to make my goals and be motivated this year to actually progressing towards achieving them. I began a cycle of supplements today, which is what spawned this post in the first place. I've learned that fitness is all about your own journey. Every body and mind is completely different, we may have similar goals and ideas on how to get there but what may w...

Spring Mani: Turquoise & Caicos

It's Tuesday & at home mani day!  I have a nail routine I want to share,  I am and have been completely obsessed with it for awhile now. It's budget friendly at home mani that has the perfect shine without the high gel product price tag!  Let's get started! For prep shape your nails with a nail file, depending on the amount of shaping you need determines your grit. I use a rough grit to get the shape and a mild one to smooth edges and separated layers. I do not ever use a nail clipper, that's just too much commitment! Ha, in all honesty, I hate the look it leaves! When you finally get your nail to your desired shape and smoothness, wash your hands, and dip those naked fingertips in some acetone. This removes any oils, lotions, dust, and whatever other residue that may cause your base not to stick!  For the base, I use Sally Hansen Hard As Nails . This stuff gives your nails a gel-like base coat to make that polish stick! It also helps prevents ...

Long Weekend, Tired Blonde

Holy cannoli, am I one tired girl?! This weekend is the last busy weekend at work so I worked my bum off! Exhausted as can be! My sweetheart is headed home tomorrow after a week of working hard! Cannot wait to snuggle up! Gag me, right? Ha! No shame in our game!  Our Holiday Photos! (my brunette days, I don't miss it!) So, Friday night consisted of a glass of pinot and a lot of bleach! I decided to tone with more of the ice blonde than anticipated but I believe it came out well! That will be a separate posts with all of those details tomorrow! One thing I have reflected on this weekend was dealing with various personalities and what people expect of you. Whether it is an acquaintance, friend or family, personalities can cause any situation to be laid back or wound like a top! A lovely lady that I work with (also a fellow blogger) and I have become very close; she dealt with my crazy family and I at Disney on Saturday night! I am very blessed to have her! She met my b...

Blonde Moments

Happy Friday!!  Wednesday afternoon, I arrived in Jacksonville to see my honey while he works on another store opening for his company. Luckily, this store is only about two and a half hours from where we live so I was able to come see him on my day off!  While I am waiting for him to get off,  I realize some things. He and a friend of his who helped him get on the team have only been doing this working-away-from-home lifestyle for about 3 months now. It hasn't been the easiest of transitions for me but we've survived and gotten stronger, each trip gets easier. I have come to learn about the other guys on this team through him and come to find that most of them are single. I realize as I think about all this that not every couple can survive this kind of lifestyle. It makes me proud and scared for us. Proud because we have grown together during all this, but scared because I know that there are always insecurities lurking around the corner. I am so pro...

This Blonde Does Not Do Mornings!

**This post started the morning of Tuesday but due to a terrible morning and long night at work, is concluding on Wednesday!**   It's only Tuesday... I'm just sayin'!  Being a glutton for punishment, I decided to pick up a dinner shift last night and schedule an appointment across town during morning rush hour for this morning. I've officially lost my mind and feel like I need to duplicate myself, one for day and another for night! Ha! One can dream! Even though I felt as if I needed an endless vat of coffee, I didn't want to appear as such so I mustered all of my energy and slapped some makeup on myself! I used the same palette as I did for the grey smokey eye, but using the pinks instead! I'm a little more obsessed with it than I am the greys but I'm a pink girl all the way!!  Happy Hump Day! When I began writing this post, I was sitting at the airport in Orlando about to take a security test to obtain my badge. I had just acquired a j...

Blushed Blonde!

Dreading Monday...Oh, wait, today is my Friday and Sunday! Having a serving job is beneficial when it comes having days off during the week. You can actually get errands done on your day off! The last two days, I've been playing with my Maybelline "The Blushed Nudes" palette. Can't tell that I use this at all! Most Maybelline palettes have suggestions on what shades to use on which part of your eye. I used this quad suggestion: I was also really excited to receive my favorite mascara in the mail on Friday! This is the brand that I used to sell, but seeing as I am not a salesman by any means, I decided to just be a customer! This is the two-part mascara with the gel and the fibers. Obsessed!! So, this look is really quick, simple and light for work and day. Pretty sure it will be a go-to for the summer, maybe lighten it up with some of the light pink instead of the dark grey.   ..xobb

Lil' Tid Bits

Happy FriYay!!    All week I was trying to think of the best ways to show different tutorials. I toyed with the idea of a YouTube channel, I actually have one video currently posted that I need to properly edit. But for the most part, I truly believe that I am currently enjoying just photos so you'll have to be patient until my skills get a bit of fine tuning!  We tend to have "Crest Kid" smiles! I have my Beau home until Monday and then our insanity starts again. Being that this is still semi-new in our household, I still struggle with being alone a majority of the time. I believe that while you're alone, you're forced to face your own demons that normally aren't on the surface. Being busy has been the easiest way for me to avoid dealing with some personal issues. But, as it was evidently bound to, my mind finally place all these things in my focus and I was forced to face them. I don't know if this is just me, but independence has always had s...

Brass Be Gone!

Orange you glad you're blonde!    Orange is the taboo word in the hair coloring community! You just don't say it, it's almost jinxing the sacred golden locks! No one, and I mean, no one wants their dream blonde glow to brass up on them! So, here's my solution: purple shampoo! Sally's Beauty Supply, $14 Many people have made comments regarding my hair in person. Usually, it is the day of or after I use this glorious shampoo! I personally use Clairol Shimmer Lights that I've talked about in previous posts. It is amazing! Per instructions,  you are to do a two part shampooing process to up your glow. I find this to be a waste of shampoo and time. I have extremely fine, thin hair that is a tad longer that my bra strap so I feel like a double shampoo will cause my hair to be too clean, fine and fizz like crazy! No thank you!! I leave the shampoo in my hair for about 5 minutes and then wash out completely. After the fact, I moisturize with Aussie 3 Minute...
